Oscar Pistorius first gained his international fame from debate over whether his prosthetic legs would give him a advantage in the 2012 Summer Olympics.  They decided to let him run in the Olympics.
Today, the disabled track star finds himself in the middle of a more serious
controversy: whether he intentionally shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, or whether he mistook her for an
intruder.
Batchelor  Pistorius friend said Pisorius is someone who "had a trip switch," quick to get
angry and fight.
One thing many people don't know, Batchelor said, is that Pistorius was armed
nearly everywhere he went. He even applied to become a licensed gun collector so
he could buy more guns than the four that South Africans are allowed, according
to Carvel Webb, chairman of an umbrella organization for South Africa's private
gun collectors, including Pistorius.

Why would he want more guns in the first place how is four not enough?  This trip switch seems an a lot like steroid usage to me.  Quick to get angry, but it is another thing to get so angry that you want to fight.  Another question I have is why would you shoot an intruder?  Yeah I know it is a intruder, but you have to think would you shoot somone just because they broke into your house.  At least give the person a warning before you shoot someone and if he did Reeva would not be dead.

Lottery winner Urooj Khan was dead after a couple of days after he won the lottery.  They are pretty sure someone has poisoned him hoping to get some of the money.  Officials in January exhumed the body of Khan  who died the day after the Illinois lottery issued him a check for about $425,000 for winning a scratch-off game hoping to determine how cyanide entered his system.  The authorities issued at first Urooj Khan death natural but after a while it is now ruled a homicide.  Cyanide(the poison) follows a natural like death were it blocks the flow of oxygen sort of like blocking blood flow.
I found this sad because he never got to use the money and why would somebody poison him.  They are not going to get the money unless they are related to them but I highly doubt that somebody close to would have killed him.  I still wonder on how the person (killer) got the poison into him without being discoverd.  How did someone even get a hold of Cyanide.

All those who are hoping that comprehensive immigration reform is going to
happen this year -- Latinos, businesses, churches, agriculture industry, law
enforcement and others -- are in for a rude awakening.
The trick for politicians will be
to look as if they're doing something, when really they're doing nothing. But,
regardless of how it looks, it's a long shot that Congress will pass immigration
reform this year.

That's bad news for those who
want to give the undocumented a chance to get right with the law and develop a
sensible, fair and efficient policy for future immigrants. But it's good news
for those who resist legalizing the undocumented because they're afraid of
foreigners -- either because of competition with their work ethic, or that
they're changing the culture and complexion of the country.

This is sort of interesting but I don't think that those who are here illeagally should be able to become legal.

Huge crowds in the Vatican cheered Pope Benedict XVI on
Wednesday as he made his first public appearance since announcing his
resignation at the end of the month.
He thanked the Roman Catholic
faithful in several languages and said it was not appropriate for him to
continue as pope. "I've decided to resign the
ministry given to me by the Lord.
I've done this in full freedom, for the
benefit of the church," he told those gathered in a Vatican City audience hall  for his regular weekly appearance. Benedict said he is fully aware
of the gravity of his decision but he could not carry on as pope "I don't
have the strength that it requires."

I sort of think there is a side story to this but I could be wrong.  He could have resigned on his own free will, but it sort of makes you think what made him decide that he needed to retire beside age.  The next question is why did he resign right before Ash Wednesday, but the real question is who is going to be the next Pope.

Arguably the most wanted man in America, fired police Officer Christopher
Jordan Dorner may well be in hiding -- plotting his next move after allegedly
killing three people. Officers toting high-powered weapons fanned out Friday
across thousands of square miles, searching for their former colleague.
More than 100 officers zeroed in
on a mountain resort town west of Los Angeles where searchers Thursday found
Dorner's burned-out pickup truck. An approaching storm threatened to hinder the
already difficult manhunt.
 "We're going to continue
searching until we either discover he left the mountain or we find him," Sheriff
John McMahon said Friday.
 "It's extremely dangerous," he
said.

I would like to learn why he has taken war to the L. A. police.  Maybe he has a reason or maybe he just got into some trouble.  Some say he was fired for no reason.

    On Tuesday afternoon, bus driver
Charles Poland Jr. was shuttling children from school to their homes when he dropped Miller's two boys off and a man boarded the bus.
He demanded Poland, 66, hand over a child. Poland refused, blocking access to the bus' narrow aisle as at least 21 children escaped out of the back emergency door, according to police.  Poland ended up getting shot immediatly dying.  The suspect took 2 kids but one escaped.  They are now in an underground bunker.
(Bus Driver Above)
  It's unclear whether the
suspected gunman was after a specific child on the bus. Police have said there
is no connection between the suspect and the abducted boy, whose identity is
being withheld.

This is sort of strange and weird.  Why would someone want to kidnapp a child and then go into a underground bunker.  Apparental there has been talk that this man is a dooms day preper.  The police have said that this bunker is four feet underground and is laced with PVC pipe.  Neighbors and other sources have named the kidnapper as Jimmy Lee Dykes, 65, a Vietnam veteran and retired truck driver, who moved to the area about five years ago.

`North Korea put a satellite into orbit last month, it declared that the launch was an exercise
of its “right to use space for peaceful purposes” and denounced criticism by the U.S. and others that it was carrying out a ballistic-missile test meant to threaten its neighbors.  North Korea responded angrily to the Security Council’s move, declaring that it
may soon carry out another nuclear test the isolated totalitarian state’s
third a move its National Defense Commission said was aimed at the U.S.

This could be a really big step for the U.S. or North Korea it just depends on how you look at it.  If you say the launch another test and America doesn't respond to it, it may improve the situation between the two countries.  It will also give a trust factor to North Korea, but at the same time if North Korea would be able to gain info from the U.S. and we don't do anything to stop it well there could be a lot of damage done.

In British Columbia, towering red cedars live a thousand years, and black bears are born with white fur.White fur occurs in only one of every 40 to 100 black bears on the British
Columbia mainland coast, but the trait is especially pronounced on certain
islands in the Great Bear Rainforest.
On Princess Royal Island, one in ten black
bears is white. On Gribbell Island, directly north of Princess Royal, it's one
in three. Biologist Wayne McCrory of the Valhalla Wilderness Society calls
Gribbell "the mother island of the white bears."
The Spirit Bear also known as the Kermode bear are endangerd.  Today, there are less than 200 spirit bears left in the world.Researchers have recently proved that the spirit bear's white coat gives it an advantage when fishing. Although white and black bears tend to have the same
success rate after dark—when bears do a lot of their fishing—scientists Reimchen
and Dan Klinka from the University of Victoria noticed a difference during the
daytime.
White bears catch salmon in one-third of their attempts. Black
individuals are successful only one-quarter of the time. "The salmon are less
concerned about a white object as seen from below the surface

Lionel Messi won the FIFA Ballon d'Or
award on Monday as an expected and deserved reward for his astonishing 91-goal
year for Barcelona and Argentina in 2012.
Just 25 years old, Messi has now been voted the world's
best player for an unprecedented fourth straight year as the outstanding talent
of his generation.
    Messi beat his great rival
Cristiano Ronaldo of
Spanish champion Real Madrid and Barcelona teammate
Andres Iniesta, who starred
as Spain won the 2012 European Championship.
This is a really important award.  He actually broke the record for
most consecutive FIFA awards won.

Messi's fourth award lifted him above
three-time FIFA
winners Zinedine Zidane of France and Brazil's Ronaldo. The
old Ballon d'Or trophy for players in Europe was won three times by France
great Michel Platini, and Netherlands forwards Johan Cruyff and Marco van
Basten.
